About

Jeffrey R. Siegel, IRS Tax Attorney

My Story

Jeffrey R. Siegel, Esq., IRS Tax AttorneyI am originally from New York. I went to college at Princeton University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Politics in 1979. I then attended University of San Francisco School of Law where I was awarded a Juris Doctor degree in 1983. After law school, I clerked on the Colorado Court of Appeals. In 1985, when my clerkship finished, I followed a business opportunity and went to Guam, where I practiced law throughout the western pacific until 1990. I returned to California and entered private practice. During this time, I went back to law school and obtained a Master of Laws in Taxation. I moved to Kansas City in 2001.

In addition to tax law, my tax resolution practice has included business formations and disputes, estate planning and litigation. I have tried cases in Guam, Saipan, California, Missouri and Kansas. I have argued appeals at the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth and Ninth Circuits, as well as state courts of appeal. I have personally argued at the Supreme Court of the United States. I have been a tax relief attorney for almost thirty years. I have handled all types of tax disputes, including business tax and individual tax problems. I deal with the Internal Revenue Service on behalf of tax clients regularly and know the procedures from the time the tax is assessed all the way through the tax appeals stage.

I am licensed to practice tax law in Kansas, Missouri, California, Colorado and Maryland.
